Working with Cranfield to support Non-Executive Directors

The Cranfield Non-Executive Director’s Seminar is a two-day event led and organized by Professor Ruth Bender. Ruth is Emeritus Professor of Corporate Financial Strategy, having researched and taught at Cranfield for many years.

Cathy Kay of Russam is involved in this twice-yearly event, which is designed to educate delegates about a NED’s legal responsibilities, good governance and finance.

As part of the agenda, Cathy facilitates a workshop on written and verbal communication, including CV writing.  By presenting their qualities in a relevant and powerful way, a NED will increase their chances of finding their first Board or Trustee role.

The challenges individuals face in early NED roles can sometimes be hard to acknowledge; many  senior people who are highly competent in their roles may seek greater confidence in the board room.  Cathy reassures delegates that this problem is typically easy to resolve with careful preparation, and takes them through some key steps.

The next seminar takes place in October. Visit the Cranfield website for more information, or contact Cathy: [email protected]
