The Organisation:

We are working with a fast growth multi-site fintech needing an Interim CFO to take a pivotal role in shaping the strategy at a key time. This could be a "temp-to-perm" opportunity but the client is clear that they want someone who has held SMF2 designated responsibilities and comes with a strong banking background (ideally a mix of established and challenger/digital banks).

Role & Responsibilities:

This will include taking responsibility for strategy, procurement and key financial areas such as tax/treasury and a team of 12 finance professionals.  It will also include the lead for the relationship with external investors and bankers; generating trust and confidence in the business and its ability to deliver on stated plans. This includes leading any corporate finance activity whether M&A or strategic partnerships.

The Desired Candidate:

  • Significant experience in finance and FD/CFO level roles
  • Experience in the banking sector is desirable and also working with VC/PE investors is highly desirable
  • Time in Fintech would also be helpful
  • SMF2 approved person status in previous perm roles
  • Previous experience of developing and executing corporate strategies and M&A transactions incl. exits
  • Relevant professional accounting qualifications
  • The ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels with both the team, CEO, Board, investors and the general market; spreading confidence amongst the audience.
