The Organisation

Our client, a well funded early stage venture, has developed a product which has been demonstrated in studies to be both safe and effective in two applications; relieving the symptoms of IBS (a condition from which circa 15% of the population suffer) and improving athletic performance in endurance athletes. Further studies are investigating other applications.

The Role

We are looking for a smart, high performing Finance and Operations Director to report to the CEO. This is a great opportunity for someone looking for a broad business role while being a key part of the founding team, building a significant and exciting business.

Key responsibilities:

Operations

• Optimise and manage e-commerce supply chain in UK
• Ensure customer fulfilment is on-time and accurate
• Manage relationships, KPI’s and contracts with key vendors
• Manage supply chain planning (including contingency planning during initial unpredictable phase)
• Set up operations in key international markets and manage any exports

Finance

• Optimise and run the financial processes, systems and controls and ensure they are operating effectively
• Input to strategy and budget preparation with team
• Monthly management reporting (incl forward looking forecasts and cash flow) and recommending actions to ensure strategic objectives met
• Ensuring all Statutory Accounts are prepared accurately and on time
• Ensure compliance with all tax requirements (UK and Internationally)
• Managing transactional team (currently third party) and overseeing/reviewing sales ledger, purchase ledger, payroll, cash posting and all general ledger entries.
• Liaise with auditors and preparing audit packs
• Project management of process changes and implementations

Key skills/experience
 

• 6+ years of experience at senior level
• Experience working in a smallcompany environment
• Strong preference for direct to consumer ecommerce experience ideally with a multinational footprint
• Self starter with energy to get results in a fast paced, dynamic business
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills – great attention to detail
• Strong people skills with proven ability to work as a team
• Enjoys rolling up sleeves looks beyond the job description
• Chartered Accountant (preferably CIMA)
