The Organisation

Our client is a private boutique hotel group with various properties across the UK. They seek an Interim FD – ideally from the hospitality/leisure sector - who can help them through a future sale process.

Role & Responsibilities

Overall, to come in and understand the challenges, bringing a fresh set of eyes, align stakeholders, help to “retell the story” of the organisation and prepare for a potential sales process. The role could probably be done part-time/less than 5 days per week. Outside IR35. Duration c6 months.

•    Lead financial planning, analysis, and reporting to drive business growth and profitability.
•    Oversee all aspects of financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance.
•    Work closely with the executive team to support strategic decision-making and long-term planning.
•    Manage relationships with investors, banks, and other financial stakeholders.
•    Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
•    Develop and mentor a high-performing finance team to support the company’s objectives.
•    Collaborate with other departments to enhance supply chain efficiency and operational performance.

Desired Candidate 

•    Proven experience as a Finance Director or in a senior financial leadership role; previous experience of M&A/taking a diverse group (ideally in hospitality/leisure) through a sale process
•    The candidate will need to know what the requirements are of corporate buyers/private equity/VC’s etc
•    Relevant sector experience in areas such as hospitality/leisure – hotels/properties would be highly desirable 
•    Detail oriented – can work on the documents of the various entities and ownership structures, corporate governance (board mins) and the intercompany accounts
•    Excellent leadership skills; ability to be firm and instil a collaborative mindset.
•    Strong communication with the ability to influence at all levels.
•    A proactive, results-driven approach with a passion for driving growth and creating value.
