We’re seeking a hands-on, technically proficient Interim Financial Accountant to support the final stages of our client’s year-end audit and statutory accounts preparation. This is a short-term, high-impact role requiring a self-starter who can hit the ground running with minimal guidance. You’ll be stepping in to replace a senior interim and will be expected to pick up key deliverables swiftly and confidently.

Key Responsibilities

• Finalise year-end audit schedules and respond to audit queries
• Prepare and review statutory accounts under UK GAAP and IFRS
• Assist with corporation tax and VAT return reviews
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accuracy of key accounts
• Support process improvements and documentation
• Liaise with external auditors and internal stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with Companies House and HMRC filing requirements

What You’ll Bring

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified
• Strong technical accounting skills (stat accounts, audit prep, reconciliations)
• Experience with multi-entity environments and consolidations
• Proficiency in financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, HFM, Sage, Xero, etc.)
• Comfortable working independently and managing competing priorities
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
• Prior experience in interim roles or fast-paced environments preferred
