The Organisation
Our client is a large international FMCG organisation undertaking a major transformation of its global HR service delivery model.
The programme is focused on simplifying HR processes, improving employee experience and delivering measurable improvements in cost, efficiency, cycle time and adoption. The organisation has already established a global HR operating model, standardised its core hire-to-retire processes and consolidated its HR technology landscape around Workday.
The next phase, running through to mid-2027, will focus on delivering a number of significant transformation pilots, using Lean methodology, Workday, Microsoft Copilot and modern product management approaches to redesign and simplify how HR services are delivered.
This is a hands-on interim transformation leadership role, working directly within the programme delivery team. The successful individual will be expected to take accountability for delivery and measurable outcomes rather than providing a purely strategic or advisory contribution.
Roles & Responsibilities
The role will provide senior leadership across the HR transformation programme, with particular emphasis on Workday, Lean Six Sigma and process transformation.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Lead the delivery of major HR transformation initiatives across multiple global processes and geographies.
- Provide hands-on leadership of the Workday-enabled HR operating model, ensuring the technology supports stable, simplified and effective processes.
- Lead the implementation and embedding of Lean methodology and Lean Six Sigma principles across the programme, including value-stream mapping, root-cause analysis, waste elimination, process standardisation and continuous improvement.
- Challenge existing HR processes and identify opportunities to simplify, automate and improve the employee and manager experience.
- Lead the design, build and piloting of transformed HR processes, ensuring clear measures of success and demonstrable benefits.
- Work closely with technology specialists to maximise the potential of Workday and Microsoft Copilot, including the assessment and implementation of emerging Workday capabilities.
- Translate pilot outcomes into a clear business case and roadmap for subsequent phases of the programme.
- Engage confidently with senior global HR and business stakeholders, providing clear progress reporting, identifying risks and driving timely decisions.
- Maintain strong delivery momentum in a complex, international environment, balancing strategic direction with detailed hands-on execution.
The Desired Candidate
The successful candidate will be a senior HR transformation leader who combines deep HR leadership experience with genuine hands-on Lean Six Sigma and Workday expertise.
Essential experience is likely to include:
- Senior HR leadership experience as a CHRO, Chief People Officer, HR Director or equivalent, ideally within a large, complex international organisation.
- A strong track record of leading large-scale global HR transformation and operating model change.
- Significant practical experience of Workday, ideally having led or played a senior delivery role in a major Workday implementation, transformation or shared-services environment.
- Genuine Lean Six Sigma practitioner experience – this is a critical requirement. The individual should be able to diagnose processes, identify waste, undertake root-cause analysis, redesign processes and embed sustainable continuous improvement.
- A highly hands-on and delivery-oriented approach, with the credibility to work alongside specialist Lean and technology teams rather than operating solely at a strategic level.
- Strong commercial and analytical capability, with the ability to quantify transformation benefits and build an evidence-based investment case.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and the confidence to influence senior global executives.
- Experience operating successfully in complex, matrixed and international organisations.
The key differentiator will be the combination of senior HR leadership, Workday expertise and genuine Lean Six Sigma capability. This is not a conventional interim CHRO assignment; it is a hands-on HR transformation and delivery leadership role requiring someone who can move between strategy, process, technology and execution.
