COVID-19 Coronavirus – Precautionary Measures At Russam

We are all very concerned about the impact of the virus and the ways in which we live and work. Our business is all about people; physically getting our talented candidates together with our clients to see how they might work together. We have a duty of care to our staff, clients, candidates and their families that takes priority over our normal business activities.

We have spent time over the last week ensuring that we are ready with precautionary measures and can continue to operate as effectively as possible. Key actions include:

Candidate interviews:

We have asked our Russam staff that any meetings with candidates are now conducted on Zoom/Skype/other technology for the next couple of weeks or until we see how the coronavirus develops.
We have spoken to a number of our clients and they understand and they also will be putting their own measures in place so this will be helpful to them.

Client meetings & events:

We also recommend that as many meetings (especially non-essential) as possible are also conducted by Zoom or over the telephone, keeping face to face contact to a minimum. We are either changing all events to Webinars or postponing. For example, our next IR35 event will be Webinar only: We want to make sure that our clients, candidates and Russam staff are not unnecessarily exposed to larger groups.

Our Russam staff and business continuity:

We have provided the means for all of our staff to work from home. We have cut out travel to and from countries deemed at risk by authorities. We have completed an audit and no staff members or associates have been to a high-risk country. We are testing and retesting the capacity of our businesses to ensure continuity if sections of our staff work outside the office. We have asked our Russam staff to tell us immediately if they feel unwell and to let us know if anyone they are in contact with has tested positive or is unwell.  We will continually monitor the guidance provided by the authorities; in particular Public Health England (PHE) and the World Health Organisation (WHO); and ensure that we keep our staff current on all relevant official advice and directives.

We will share updates as we feel necessary and give extra support to our interim managers on assignment (both in the UK and internationally) and candidates currently going through recruitment processes; working with our client organisations to help things to operate as smoothly as possible.

Meanwhile, please feel free to contact any member of the Russam team if we can help in any way or if you think you might need our support through this period.
