#GreatHires – We are thrilled to announce Beth Brook as the new Chair of the Blue Cross from June 2024

With a deep passion for both animals and people, Beth brings a wealth of experience in charity leadership and a dedication to the welfare of pets and their owners.

Beth’s journey began on a pig farm and as an ecologist by training, she spent several years as Director of Conservation and Marketing with Warwickshire Wildlife Trust. After a stint in Poland, she held Chief Executive positions at the Council for Learning Outside the Classroom, Fair Train, and the Heart of England Forest, where she established and grew England’s largest new native broadleaf forest.

Beth’s extensive experience across various charities has equipped her with robust leadership, strategy, and governance skills, enabling significant impact for public benefit. Her connection to animals, from her German pointer Wilson to her rescue crossbreed dog Noodle, highlights her profound understanding of the positive impact pets have on individual well-being and societal cohesion.

The Blue Cross, a leading animal welfare charity in the UK, has been dedicated to helping sick, injured, and homeless pets since 1897. With Beth at the helm, the Blue Cross will continue its mission to ensure every pet enjoys a healthy life in a happy home.

With a large menagerie of rescue animals at home, Beth’s empathy and dedication to animal welfare are unparalleled. Her leadership will undoubtedly champion the cause of animal welfare at the Blue Cross.
