Ruth Rennie:

Ruth Rennie is the Director of Standards and Assurance for the Rainforest Alliance. She leads the global team responsible for developing and supporting RA’s certification program.

Ruth has more than 20 years’ experience in international development and has lived and worked in many parts of Africa, Asia and the Middle East. She is a passionate advocate for certification and sustainability standards having experienced firsthand the immense leverage that responsible sourcing practices can have to meet rising consumer demand for products with positive social and environmental impact, combat climate change and achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals. She has experience in supporting standards development and implementation, value chain development, and facilitating multi-stakeholder partnerships between businesses, governments, NGOs, civil society & local communities in different parts of the world.  She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Victoria University, Wellington, Masters degrees from Trinity College, Dublin and the Universite Paris 7 in Paris, and professional certification in Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Strategies, and IEMA Environmental Management.
