Russam is delighted to announce the successful appointment of Michael Whitehead as Interim Chief Operating Officer at Redisher Support Services Ltd.

Following a successful search process, Russam partnered with Redisher Support Services to identify and appoint an experienced interim leader with the operational expertise, commercial focus, and hands-on leadership capability to support the organisation through its next phase of development.

Michael brings more than 20 years’ experience leading multi-site businesses through turnaround, integration, and structured growth. His experience spans building services, M&E, specialist engineering, field operations, property services, and other operationally complex sectors.

With direct P&L responsibility of up to £15m, alongside senior leadership experience within groups with multi-£100m+ revenues and global service footprints, Michael has a strong track record of strengthening operational performance, building effective operating models, and introducing the structure and governance needed to support sustainable growth.

An experienced operational leader

Michael’s career began with a four-year City & Guilds plumbing and heating apprenticeship, progressing through the trade to senior leadership and Managing Director roles. This practical background has shaped his approach to leadership, giving him credibility and an ability to operate effectively at every level of an organisation.

He has worked extensively with founders, owners, and investors where businesses are undergoing significant change, including turnaround, post-investment and post-acquisition integration, succession, and periods of rapid growth.

His experience also includes regulated and compliance-led environments, with exposure to statutory compliance, framework contracts, audit requirements, and complex operational standards across sectors including gas compliance, the NHS, MoD, Network Rail, airports, life sciences, and pharmaceuticals.

As Interim COO, Michael will provide hands-on operational leadership at Redisher Support Services, supporting the organisation as it continues to develop its operating model, strengthen governance, and build a platform for sustainable growth.
