Chief Technology Officer / Hands on
Your Russam contact
Our client is a private equity-backed, multi-site professional services business pursuing an ambitious growth strategy combining acquisition and organic expansion.
Technology is central to the next phase of the journey. The business is implementing a new Group-wide technology platform, integrating acquired companies and looking to make greater use of AI, automation and digital solutions to improve productivity, customer experience and scalability.
The Role
This is a senior leadership opportunity for a commercially minded Chief Technology Officer to make technology a genuine driver of growth and enterprise value.
Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the Executive Team, the CTO will:
- Own and deliver the Group technology strategy and roadmap.
- Lead the implementation and adoption of a major new technology platform.
- Oversee the migration from legacy systems while ensuring business continuity.
- Lead technology due diligence and integration for acquisitions.
- Take responsibility for the wider IT estate, operations, cyber security and resilience.
- Identify and deliver opportunities to use AI, automation and technology to improve productivity and customer experience.
- Manage key technology partners and suppliers.
- Build a scalable technology environment capable of supporting continued acquisition-led growth.
The ambition is clear: technology should move from being primarily a support function to becoming a strategic differentiator and measurable contributor to EBITDA, scalability and future exit value.
Candidate Requirements
We are looking for an experienced technology leader who combines strategic thinking with hands-on delivery. You are likely to bring:
- CTO, Technology Director or senior Head of Technology experience within a growing or transforming business.
- Strong experience of major systems implementation and digital transformation.
- Experience integrating businesses, systems and data following acquisitions.
- The commercial credibility to operate effectively with a CEO, Executive Team and private equity investors.
- Strong supplier and technology partner management skills.
- A good understanding of cyber security, infrastructure, governance and business continuity.
- A practical understanding of how AI and automation can create tangible business value.
- The leadership skills to bring people with you through significant technological and organisational change.
This would particularly suit someone who enjoys a growth and transformation environment and wants the opportunity to build a technology capability that has a visible impact on the value of the business.
