Our client is a globally recognised automotive distribution and retail business, operating across multiple international markets and at the forefront of the industry's transition towards a more sustainable, low-carbon future. Through continued growth and strategic transformation, the organisation is strengthening its global finance capability and is now seeking an outstanding Group Head of Financial Reporting to join its London-based Group Headquarters.
The Role
Reporting into senior Group Finance leadership, this is a pivotal role with responsibility for leading the Group's external financial reporting agenda across a complex, multinational organisation. The successful candidate will ensure the delivery of accurate, timely and high-quality financial reporting, while maintaining the highest standards of governance, compliance and technical accounting excellence.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the preparation and delivery of the Group's consolidated financial statements, including the Annual Report & Accounts and interim reporting.
- Owning the Group consolidation process, reporting timetable and external reporting calendar.
- Ensuring compliance with IFRS, UK statutory requirements, listing obligations and evolving regulatory standards.
- Acting as the technical accounting authority across the Group, providing guidance on complex accounting matters, M&A activity and new accounting standards.
- Managing the relationship with external auditors and ensuring an efficient, well-controlled audit process.
- Strengthening financial governance, controls and risk management frameworks in partnership with Internal Audit and Internal Controls teams.
- Leading, developing and inspiring a high-performing Group Financial Reporting team while driving a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
The Requirements
The ideal candidate will be an accomplished finance leader with the technical expertise and commercial credibility to operate effectively at Executive and Board level. They will combine exceptional reporting and governance skills with the ability to build strong relationships across a global organisation.
You will bring:
- A recognised professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
- Significant experience in Group Financial Reporting within a listed or large multinational business.
- Deep technical knowledge of IFRS and UK statutory reporting requirements.
- A proven track record of preparing consolidated financial statements and leading external audit processes.
- Strong leadership experience, with the ability to develop and motivate high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to explain complex financial matters clearly and influence senior decision-makers.
