The Organisation:
Our client is a leading provider of USB document cameras and stop motion animation kits, established in 2010 and catering to educational, consumer, and business markets, primarily in the USA, UK, and France.

The Role:
The Independent Trustee Director will have responsibility as a member of the Employee Ownership Trust Board to protect the interests of the beneficiaries in the business.  An Independent Trustee is sought with the willingness and commitment to support the further development of the Trust Board.

The organisation is small, and the founders are seeking someone who will bring an understanding of employee ownership and who can help set up appropriate processes and practices. It would be helpful, although not essential, for applicants to have had experience of working in a small business and a background of working in a multinational environment, education or internet sales would be an advantage.

With four meetings per year, either in person or online,  and the associated preparation and contact with the Founder, this Independent Trustee Director will have the opportunity to help shape working relationships and build board effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

  • An ability to work well as part of a small and diverse team of trustees.
  • Excellent communication skills with an instinct to listen first, the confidence to challenge supportively and the interpersonal skills to support and develop an effective trust board.
  • An understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, liabilities and responsibilities of trustees and clarity on the difference between governance functions and management functions.
  • A passion for and commitment to the company’s vision, mission and values.

How to Apply:

  • A comprehensive CV, including your recent achievements, and the details of two referees.
  • A supporting statement, indicating your motivations for applying.  This should be no longer than one side of A4.
  • Or email Eddy Nsabue at eddy.nsabue@russam.co.uk or Cathy Kay at cathy.kay@russam.co.uk.
