The Organisation
Our client is a respected, high growth and innovative social care company based in Suffolk; with a focus on education.
We are looking for a Financial Business Analyst to join the team for c 6 months (potential here for a transition to a permanent FC type role) and work closely with the FD during a period of growth and change.
They need help analysing financial data to help the business to make strategic decisions to improve business performance, identify opportunities and forecast trends.
The role will be primarily office based.
Roles & Responsibilities
They seek an Interim Financial Business Analyst to help across a wide range of activities including gathering data, organizing information, analysing historical results, making forecasts and projections, making recommendations, and generating financial models, presentations, and reports. They will join a small finance team of 4-5 individuals and help to add value in a number of areas. For example, for all the different revenue streams across the group they need to understand where the gross margin is and whether the costs are and sort into categories.
We need someone that has a business partnership approach; someone that can speak and explain the finances to non-financial colleagues.
The Desired Candidate
• Deep understanding of financial statements, accounting procedures, internal and external reporting and variance analysis.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
• Collaborative team approach
• Good understanding of accounting procedures and financial statement; financial management, data and analytics
• Ideally qualified accountant or part-qualified but the experience of working in this role is more important – perhaps a degree in finance, accounting or mathematics
• Specific proficiency in data analysis and visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI)
• Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar would be desirable) and strong Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, macros).
