The Organisation
Our client is a retail bank and they seek an interim head of financial crime.
Role & Responsibilities
The Interim Head of Financial Crime will be responsible for managing a team to monitor, reduce risk of and investigate AML, sanctions, fraud and bribery and corruption. They will also be responsible for compliance policy in relation to the above and be the key point of contact for regulatory visits and audits. They will need to present to executive committee and the board on certain matters. The successful candidate will also have oversight of a financial crime monitoring programme. This role has the possibility of going permanent in due course but with an initial interim period of 4 months to get the division into shape. The IR35 determination has not yet been made.
The Desired Candidate
- Have performed a similar role with equivocal organisation across retail banking ideally
- Experience of policy writing and monitoring, strong AML experience is of particular interest
- Management experience
- Professional qualification and degree educated - an ICA Diploma in Financial Crime Prevention or equivalent would be desirable
- Knowledge of regulations in the wider financial services sector and financial crime vulnerabilities.
