The Client

We are working with an SME growth and entrepreneurial business that specialises in equipment rental. They are circa £30m turnover and operate out of several sites across the UK. During a time of transition they need an experienced Interim MD to come in (possibility of a longer contract or permanent role; but we are very focussed on the short term needs of the business).

Role and Responsibilities

The Interim will take over the reins of the business during a time of transition as the firm moves from “good to great” and takes advantage of opportunities in their sector; where their clients are increasing opting to rent/lease equipment instead of owning themselves.

The Desired Candidate
 

• We need someone who understands the underlying financial aspects behind a capital intensive equipment rental and leasing business . . .how the assets depreciate, how to ensure the business is cash generative, how to negotiate the right purchase price for the assets etc. This might be a background in corporate banking and finance; perhaps before a career move into running growth businesses.
• Additionally, strong networking and commercial focus, past experience in M&A, complex contract negotiations and scaling sales teams would be important
• Not essential but desirable to have: past experience in private equity, technology/media/broadcast sector
