The Organisation:

Our client is a private equity backed food production and manufacturing company based in the South East with sub 100 staff.

Role & Responsibilities:

We need a really hands-on interim operational expert to stabilise the current operations to ensure customer requirements are met, current risks are assessed and solutioned, assess current state and provide a roadmap to an agreed end state model.

It will include cost optimisation to review the current state and provide a roadmap to a more optimised and transparent cost model for production and boarder operations, identifying opportunities to reduce costs, eliminate adverse cost variances in labour and materials thereby improving cost efficiency in manufacturing operations.

This role requires an individual who can ‘hit the ground’ running and create impact from day one. Initial impact will be measured in the ability to stabilise the current operations, whilst assessing current state and swiftly aligning stakeholders to an end state, building a plan and executing. The role requires an individual who has the experience, know-how and leadership experience to balance big picture with intricate details in a turnaround context.

The Desired Candidate:

• Experience in the application of Lean, Six Sigma or similar in the review of and development of operating standards.
• Turnaround, operations improvement in a small business managing production of private label food products.
• Demonstrable experience of the restructuring of a production environment whether inter alia by factory layout, working hours, permanent v temporary labour; new equipment thereby ensuring cost optimisation, effectiveness and efficiency.
• Articulates in all directions of the team (up/down/sideways) a strong financial and commercial acumen, talks with confidence about the key financial, operational, quality and technical data/information measures that ensure a cost optimised operations function.
