The Organisation:
Our client is a Cambridge based research institute.
They need an interim risk manager to cover for a key person off sick for approx. two months starting immediately (before the end of June '22)
Role & Responsibilities:
To look after the risk management area and continue the improvement work in this area especially around risk appetite training and work on the risk framework and BCP. Specific tasks include:
-Continue roll out of the Risk Framework including organising training with supplier (currently in progress for both BCP and Risk Appetite)
-Continue liaison activities with various Departments on simplification and prioritisation of Risks on their Registers
-Address actions generated by the recent Risk Management Framework Internal Audit (due to report next week)
-Complete reporting on the DASIC to the satisfaction of COO
-Prepare and present papers for the ARC and Operations Boards (monthly) as needed.
-Other day to day and strategic duties
The Desired Candidate:
- Good knowledge of risk management and improvement tools
- Experience in designing, supporting and auditing business performance improvements, incorporating governance, effective measurement and the identification and analysis of risk
- Engaging personality and strong communicator
