On October 17 Google hosted an event for alumni of the Step On Board programme. Step On Board is a product of Trustees Unlimited, which is a third owned by Russam.

Russam was involved in designing the initial pilot of Step On Board at Barclays where its focus was, and still is, on preparing and helping emerging and established leaders secure board positions with not for profit organisations.

The programme has gone on to become a leading employee talent initiative that has been rolled out to numerous organisations including Credit Suisse, RBS, EY, Google and British Land.

The event was a celebration of the fact that over 300 people have now joined boards as a consequence of the programme. It aimed to start creating a community of these new trustees, who are making a huge difference to organisations across the UK and Ireland.
