Thank you to everyone who joined us for The Big Decision: Strategy That Delivers. It was a real pleasure to welcome such an engaged and thoughtful group to the RSA for an evening focused on what truly makes strategy work in practice.

We were delighted to hear from Jason Atkinson and Dr Alan O’Neill, whose perspectives brought both clarity and challenge to the discussion. Alan’s exploration of how organisations can move beyond static strategy documents—and instead turn strategy into meaningful, sustained action – struck a particular chord with the audience. His focus on avoiding the familiar “PowerPoint that gathers dust” resonated strongly and sparked exactly the kind of honest, practical debate we had hoped for.

Throughout the session, there was a clear appetite for moving from theory to execution. Conversations ranged from leadership accountability and decision-making under pressure, to the practical realities of embedding strategy across teams and organisations. The energy in the room reflected a shared recognition that effective strategy is not a one-off exercise, but a continuous discipline.

What stood out most was the openness of the discussion. The combination of sharp insight and candid reflection created an environment where ideas could be tested, challenged and refined in real time. It is this kind of dialogue that helps leaders translate ambition into action.
