Russam and Trustees Unlimited were happy to be involved in the centenary celebrations of NCVO and we played a role in supporting the annual conference a few weeks ago. The theme was ‘Looking to the future’ and we heard some inspirational messages from people such as Danny Sriskandarajah, Oxfam’s new CEO, who said that civil society as a whole needed to “reimagine traditional organisational structures” if it wanted to effect real change in the coming years. Sir Stuart Etherington, NCVO’s outgoing CEO, talked about the need for the sector to adapt to a changing world and that “the things that made us successful in the past will not be the things that make us successful in the future.” Our sector is indeed changing and we need to embrace change and new ways of doing things.
