Russam on Race: Who dares to teach must never cease to learn - John Cotton Dana.

Feb 3, 2021

Determined to improve our understanding of race and inequality we, as a team, are reading, watching, and listening to renowned authors, filmmakers, and podcasts on the subject of race and diversity. We have asked Srabani Sen OBE, Founder and CEO of Full Colour, to guide us. We will read/watch her suggestions and post our reviews each month.

First up, we are reading Natives: Race and Class in the Ruins of Empire by BAFTA and MOBO award-winning hip-hop artist, writer and social entrepreneur, Akala. His work has been shortlisted for the James Tait Black Prize, the Jhalak Prize, the Bread and Roses Award and longlisted for the Orwell Prize for political writing.
